Rejecting Worldly Influences:
- 1 John 2:15-17 - "Do not love the world or anything in the world. If anyone loves the world, love for the Father is not in them. For everything in the world the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life comes not from the Father
but from the world."
- Colossians 3:2 "Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things."
- James 1:27 "Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world."
Embracing the Cross and Dying to Worldly Desires:
